This is all very well, but if they don't have a suitable job available, he will have to be medically retired. They do have to give a written reason for dismissal,which would mean he can claim benefit. This could include Incapacity Benefit. If they are ordering him to do work that he has been advised would be dangerous with his condition, they would have to put that in writing too - and would be in severe trouble.0

If a worker is disabled employers employers have to take all reasonable steps to support them in their job otherwise they are in breach of the Disability Discrimination Act - not something a wise supermarket chain beginning with a t should be doing.0
