Good Friday What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking
  • update spreadsheets
  • send some money to savings
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • check and water all my plants and seedlings
  • lttle bit of hokey cokey
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • aim for no spend day
  • do something from my 101 in 1001 challenge list
  • recycle something
  • swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • sparkle a lotconfetti2.gif
Good Morning lovely dfw'sjumping0044.gif Hi to all the regulars and welcome to any new posters:D
Happy Easter weekend everyone, hope you all have a great day. Just got to check my oldies this morning then off until Tuesday:D
Feeling a tiny bit better today:D

    :jMorning all :j

It is the weekend :j one day early :j AND I have managed to get the whole week off as holiday!!! :j

Glad to hear you are OK SM, everyone was worried about you yesterday.

Good to see Fay back, hope the feedback on your first chapter was good (I remember it well  - doing a PhD, not your chapter obviously :rotfl:). It is weird, in years to come it will just be a great big thing you prop the door open with - or at least that is what I do - hopefully with some nice papers from it published in good journals though :D I remember the trauma though!

    Today I have / will:

    HM meals

    See to animals (done)

Shopping at Mr S, or Mr M if the first option is too crowded and I can't be doing with it.

Make a cake or some biscuits for a treat :D

Change bedding and hoover and dust bedroom:eek:

Put some more seeds in - courgettes, runner beans, butternut squash, and encourage OH to do some more digging - he seems to be over his cowpat injury now

Encourage DD2 to rationalise the food she has a scary quote for, for her wedding, as I am expected to pay . Not being mean, but she has ordered way too many options, and I can see there being loads of waste.

Finish scary job application and email it off and not think about work any more for a whole week :T:T

Have a nice day everyone :hello:

    Good morning!!!

Glad to hear SM that you are feeling better!!! Take it easy HSpamper.gif

Can't we have one thread for all four Easter weekend days? Like a long weekend?

Anyway I will be cat sitting for next three nights and the benefits are:
    - No heating on at home
    - Less electricity used at home
    - Less water used at home (I am on meter, cat place isn't :D)
    - As a return I will get free Monkey sitting

This morning will need to finish sorting animals and then afternoon we will bake some Twinks Hobnobs and Oatibix cake - Thank you so much for those giving the recipes thankyou.gifThen just packing what we need for tonight and tomorrow morning and head off. All spreadsheet busting and book sorting will be a bonus. Off now to do my normal scratchies etc routine...

Oh, got this in an email this morning: Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it, just pee on it and walk away.
"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

  • Dawn you survived - was it worth it??????????

    Waves back xx

    - continue to use up toiletries
    - list 10 things on ebay
    - photograph another 10 things for ebay
    - dry washing on line (weather permitting) and on airer
    - keep heating off for as long as humanly possible !
    - make a new sealed box & add some coins to get me going again
    - bath dog and attempt to trim his hair
    - pack up ebay sales for posting tomorrow
    - checked online banking - horrendous !
