Hi bought a Vango Vista 600 DLX from http://www.greatoutdoorsdirect.co.uk for the amazing price of £167 including postage.

They were a quick and efficient company to deal with and the tent sleeps 6 in 3 seperate 2 bed rooms.
  • Its only for two of us and the dog! Any recommendations?

There is a comapany called Khyam that makes the quick erect tents, I have seen them we looked at buying one but the quality was poor, the hinges of the poles didnt look/feel up to much.

We have a Kyham tent and it is fantastic. Quality is excellent, joints are very strong and flexible and easily replaced if needed. Tent is v fast to put up (once you've done it a couple of times) and it's really versatile. Ours has 4 single bedrooms (or 2 doubles if you roll up the dividing walls) in 2 separate inner pieces that go up inside the tent. Plus a porch front and back and all manner of windows/flyscreens and vents etc.

I have been camping every summer for over 30 years in all weathers and have had many, many different tents in that time. The Kyham is the best ever in all weather conditions and I would never go back to an inferior design now. If you can afford it and are going to use it a lot get a Kyham.
  • How much are they?

Im just passing on my experience, and it was the early QE tents that we looked at years ago. we decided they were a gimik and than after thinking about how the hell do you dry them? yeah you really need to put them up again to let them dry no throwing the fly sheet over the washing line or kitchen table. they have had problems with leaking seams that they even ship with a kit to fix leaking seams.

Have a look at seller wilddeity in ebay. Bought a Vango 600DLX (new) a couple of years ago for £85. Paid by credit card and delivered the next day. turned out to be a v. large scottich outdoor firm. Tent has proved to be brilliant. Very waterproof and windproof (inc force 8 winds) plus interior area big enough for a table with 4 chairs and also able to stand up in it.

If you can drop on one second hand as I have not seen one for a 12 months, the Aztec Marauder is an excellent tent that is up in no time. It is a vis a vis (double bedroom at each end) but you can always put up just one bedroom.

We currently have an Outdoor revolution scenic vrx 4.2. On rallies many have commented on the quality and how different it looks.

I can really recommend Outdoor Focus as their service and prices were really good and they also gave a discount when we asked too.
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T

BTW - There are many people that can give you advice on UK Campsite

The vango aspen looks lovely for a family. We had the diablo 900 which was a good tent but took too long to pitch for short breaks.
