Old Style Jumble sales

might be a good thing beemuzed - we used to put an ad in the local free ads for jumble wanted, once went to some old blokes house, spent ages talking to him as he was lonely, telling me how his wife had died, he gave me 3 suitcases of stuff saying it was his wifes and he had sorted it all out - errr no he hadn't, half the stuff was USED incontinence pads, half the sorters were out the door retching:eek: but saying that, we did rescue stuff from the jumble to take to car boot or table sales (do they still have table sales?)
We used to collect from a very posh house that always seemed to throw out their whole crockery and cutlery collection once a year, this was always good for a few bob more at a table sale.
But like you say, all the fun has gone out of it now if you can't rummagewhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

We have a really huge one once a year in our village, with some quite good stuff. I've often managed to sell half my "stuff a bag for 50p" on ebay, and got my daughter's school fleece there for 20p - the school charges 13.50
I'm saving up my 10ps already! (it's in November!)

Hi there
We have an existing thread on jumble sales, so I'll add this to keep ideas together.
