Wife good credit, mine bad

I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction, I was self employed now employed, had two ccjs both now settled ( one for £5K the other for £1.2K ) just got another to £10K from Amex. We have a house with well over 25% equity no mortgage arrears at all. My wife has a clear credit rating. I want to take £15-17K equity out of house ( this would still leave plenty of equity ( house value circa £425K , was valued online December last year at £475K I am being pessimistic with £295 mortgage).

Can we raise a loan secured or otherise against the house to clear the Amex ccj (just awarded against us ) as Amex are going for Charging order which I do not want. Who would be the best people to talk to?
