Sorry, this is a non-story for me (not least the fact a link to a BBC story is like a link to a Daily Mail story in reverse).
No mention of New Labour, indeed, not actually blaming anyone, just seems to be saying that violent crime is out of hand and that something needs to be done about it.
Last time I looked, an opposition party is supposed to challenge the incumbent government on everything they can and to keep pushing their own agenda at every turn.
The reality is Britain is 'broken' on so many levels - economic, socially, etc and I fail to see how the soundbite "broken Britain" is somehow exploitative?.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
Seems rather a contradictory reply
No mention of New Labour, indeed, not actually blaming anyone
And the next line

Not a contradiction. The OP stated in their post that Grayling was accusing New Labour of increased youth crimes, but the article does not mention New Labour at all. The article did not blame anyone.
The opposition IS supposed to bring new ideas and policies to the table so that the electorate can decide who to vote for. A Tory here is outling what they would do differently to New Labour should they get into power. That is not "blaming" New labour just sayign "we think X is better than Y".
Therefore, my post is not a contradiction (but probably didn't explain itself very well!):oAnger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0
