Kids bikie, 16inch wheel too big

Hi, i'm looking for a coupel of bikes for my daughters one whos 4 and the other 6. I've see a nice cheap 16inch bike for £20.00 and i was wondering whether 16inches would be too high for a 4 yr old or too small for a 6yr old.

They will both need stabilisers on them as this will be there first bike.
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!

16 inch should be ok for the 6 yr old, but might be a bit big for the 4 yr old.

It will depend on their height and leg length. But if you can adjust the seat and the kids can touch the floor when on the bike they should be ok, plus they will last longer and grow into them.

You could really do with going to a place that sells bikes and see how they handle similar bikes, for example the 4 yr old might have trouble with a big bike as it might be too heavy, can't touch the floor, etc. This might spoil it, if it is a surprise though!

£20 for a bike is really good though. My sons first bike cost me about £80, luckily my mum was in Tesco after xmas and picked up his next bike for £16 in the sale, reduced from about £100, that was a 16 inch bike too.

For my son he had a 14 inch bike since he was 3, but he is getting a bit big for that now and is starting to learn how to ride it with no stabilisers, he is 5 this month and the plan was to give him the new bike for his bday, but I think we will wait til xmas when he can actually ride it with no stabilisers on.
