Budget for a wedding?

for our flowers / rings / venue / photographer / catering and dresses - they all understand that taking all your money in one big lump sum is now difficult, therefore we are paying it all month by month (should all be done for June) so we know in July all the extra money can go on any little extras we might have forgotten - if you arrange for it to be taken out the day you get paid too you know then how much you have to play with - but never let yourself go without
another budget thing is going to the sales and grab any bargains when (and if) you can - I put aside £100 for wedding favours - up to now its cost me £9 in total for all our female wedding guests (just need to get some organza bags to finish them off) and men - still no idea yet apart from lottery ticket but knowing me I will find something else for them lol
invitations - done our own instead of paying minimum £1 and needing over 100 invitations (day n night)
good luck in organising your wedding
Got married on 1st August
thank you to everyone on the weddings and anniversary forum xxx

Louise - good points. I also wasn't willing to compromise on the date. Had to be March or April next year. I'm also getting married at reception venue so no car either and they are blooming expensive...... I'm having real dilemma's over flowers though, as I want the tables to look pretty and not sure I can manage DIY flowers. I'll worry about it in 6 months :rotfl:Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0

Ok well date undecided yet but, we are thinking later in the year 2010.
I'm going to start shopping around for any bargins out to be grabbed.
Me and OH fell head over heels for a small country church we see, but only problem with that is there is no where for us to hold the reception for 10miles!
I really dont know how you girls do it, every where i read they say that a wedding is easy £18,000 up so many on here can have 8 weddings for that! lol
I'm thinking start off with a small budget, As it is only really me and OH that it means something too anyways. For everyone else its simply a knees-up with free drinks and tones of grub.
Also i think for the next year or so Ebay and me are going to be best of pals. Only problem i'm having atm is i cant find wedding dress shops on there that is in england. I found one and the dresses was awful:eek:. Everything else is from china or japan.
Congratz to all who is getting wed soon....!:beer:Future goals:

ebay is everyone's best pal haha. I couldn't rate it more now i am planning a wedding! I've got my 7 tier cake stand and my place setting cards on ebay and both were fantastic buys! Lots of people rate landy so like others have said i would give them a try, they are basically copies of designer dresses for a fraction of the price. Find a dress you like on there, find out who makes it, find a stockist and try the original on and it'll give you an idea of whether or not you like it!0

I bought my dress from island elegance and I love love it it was so cheap take a look at their website on the internet, they are from isle of white.
We didnt have a budget which is a bit silly but like Jayjay is doing we paid for things as we went along so we (which I mean Me!!!) had approximate prices for things and what we expected to pay xLoves Vegas shopping and beauty products!0 -
