Just nosing about the web and came across www.thefreesite.com
It doesn't seem to have been mentioned of late but looks to be a nice little resource for all sorts of free stuff including old abandonware games, anti-virus, software, and non-related computer freebies.
Some of the stuff is US only but the online items are accessible for all anyway. May be worth a browse...
