Anyone work for Travel Lodge?

I've managed to land a night receptionist job at our local Travel Lodge, but, in the excitement of landing a new job so quickly after losing my old one, forgot to ask about pay frequency. My first shift isn't till tomorrow night but i'm due to sign on tomorrow morning.

I know I have to tell the JC that I am starting work but will they ask me when i get my first wage in case it's monthly? or will they just sign me off straight away?

Anyways, what I was wanting to know is if anyone works for Travel Lodge and if so do they know the pay frequency?

I don't feel quite right ringing them up before I've even done my first shift and asking when i'm going to be paid.

Thanks in advance.

the jobcentre will just want to know the day you start, when you get paid has nothing to do with them, your claim will end the day before you start work.
my ex used to work for them a couple of years and got paid weekly due to the turnover of staff.

With most hospitality industries, the payment in weekly. I work for their rival ;) and they used to pay weekly when we were merged together :)
I know my spelling is shocking  It is alot better than it used to be though :rotfl:

Ah we have more in common than I first realised Gonzo...well I'm presuming you mean Premier Inn. I wondered what job you worked being on here in the early hours. How long have you worked for our 'wonderful' employers? (big brother is everywhere, particularly on their own computers!) :p

    Lol same thing here ;)

Just got access online to research sales leads etc. Makes me laugh because our bank holiday pay has been taken away, yet getting asked to do more and more tasks! Since when did more for less become the norm! So I'm more than happy to branch out by looking at other websites, haha started innocently with bbc website but you get bored reading the same old news stories after a while! And your right, this is not blocked so why not.

Was you around when the old chat forum was available for receptionists? Lol was not allowed on that either so just used to read the threads, very sad thing to do but did a good job passing the time and I do quite miss reading people's Premier Inn stories!

    Yeah, lol.

I miss the Work 'help' chat room. I know, this time of night is really quiet, and ive done what I can do until 5am when I dont stop until I go home then. Really quiet tonight tho.

Yeah I love Wednesdays! Everyone already in bed by time arrive on shift. For any downsides that come with this job, you can't beat the peace and quiet! Same here, relax til 5 then bring on the mop and window spray, ah the glamorous life of a PI receptionist!
  • Thanks for the reply's guys. I was a little worried it would be "too" quiet, but then i figure for the first few days till i get used to being awake all night, I can always find something to do to keep me busy.

Did any of you start with the intention of asking for day shifts if they came up? then just not bother cause you preferred nights?
