Getting case infomation from the csa.

I have just sent away for all my case notes from the csa. They are wanting to reassess me from May 2005 when they say my ex asked for it to be done. They have not acted on it till now.

In my notes there is no mention of this date or request.Should there be?Or will this be witheld because it's ex's infomation?

The only dates shown are 1999 when my case was opened and 2008/2009 when they did my last re-assessment.The only time 2005 is mentioned is when they had my address changed to Essex.

I have never lived in Essex,i have always been 300 miles away in the north on England!

Thanks for any help given.

Any kind of contact your ex has had with the CSA will be either blanked out or the relevant page deleted from the files before being sent to you.

Neither party are privy to the other's dealings with the CSA.

When reading, please replace the word highlighted above with the word should.

It is possible that they will miss some stuff that should be blanked out. They did in my case!

No I won't because that is what happened when I requested my papers. For me to put should would intimate that this does not happen and I have no evidence of this.
  • Thanks for that advice Loopy Girl. But i would like to see some evidence from the CSA that a re-assessment was asked for in 2005.I guess this means it will never happen?
I'm looking at possible arrears running into £1000's due to there failure to act.In other words over the last 3 years i've been spending money i never had.

Surely they cannot be allowed to do this unless they suspect some sort of fraud committed by yourself? (I'm not suggesting there is!).
Once the 2008/09 assessment had been completed, I would have thought they could only backdate to that assessment date.
It sounds suspiciously like an error on the CSA's behalf given that they mysteriously changed your address to Essex in 2005. Perhaps they are mixing your case with someone of a similar name? It has happened before.
