Sony PS2 slimline

Hi can anyone give me some advice on buying a PS2 slimline (I have been advised to get this one). My daughter would like one for her birthday(May), with the buzz and karaoke games.
I have seen some PS2's for about £175.00 which is a bit out of my price range, so thought would like to spend £100 - £125 approx and then hopefully she can have the games from other people. However, will I need to buy memory card or another controller or anything else?
All help gratefully received.

hi i got my kids one from blockbusters they did 3 packages mine, was the mid package -silver slimline ps2 1 top game and a free spare controller for 119 pound wich was the best deal i'd seen even better than argos and you got to choose a game from a pretty long list, most places only gave a choice of one or two. you will however need a memory card (not supplied) im not sure what they cost as we are using our old one.
hope this helps and she has a great birthday!!!0 -

Well .... HMV online are doing the PS2 Slimline + SingStar game for £119.99 (free delivery) however if you go visit the online code/voucher forum you will find discount codes for them easily. So I would guess £100-£100 now.
If you don't manage to find a code, find someone with an NUS (Student) card as they get at least 10% off at HMV.0 -

yes, you can get £20 off a £100 spend at hmv if you use the correct code but it is a black one. Does it have to be silver?I haven't got one!0

your right about blockbusters web i just had a look, if you click on their store button and type the name of your town they will give you address and phone no's of your nearest stores, they do sell them have done for ages but for some strange reason dont really advertise the fact, prob why they were the only place with any in stock within a 20 mile radius of my house one week b4 crimbo i actually spent 4 hrs on phone ringing everywhere and anywhere i could think of as everywhere had sold out.
