There's a link on the dell website that takes you to dell outlet which sells pcs that people have changed their minds about and returned. Saved about 400 quid on the pc I just bought off that website compared to a brand new one of same specs

Well yes and no really .. it says on the web site to grab it while you can.
I saved £300 on a laptop there just before xmas ... then phoned up to return it and they gave me another 10% off.0 -
I seem to remember an Internet forum specifically for Dell Outlet bargains but I can't find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?0

I don't doubt that there are some steals to be had - as long as you bear in mind that you're buying second-hand goods. You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
And the link is...0

You have to pay vat and delivery on those systerms. I was looking for ages for a bargain, never found one! I found it was better to get a dell when the good deals were on.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. There are quite a few bargains but automated scripts run by a few users (see https://www.outletbargains.co.uk) snap most of the super ones up within a second of them appearing.
They are indistinguishable from new - I have bought 3 desktops from the Outlet on separate occasions and none looked used at all - all the keyboards, mice, software, manuals, boxes etc were brand new and all the system units were in new condition with no evidence of use. Warranties the same as new systems were available as well.
I suspect some of the laptops may have a couple of minor scratches but really its not like buying a smoky, dusty, virus-ridden system unit from Ebay as a previous poster alluded.
You can put about 4 systems in your basket and review the spec versus the main site to determine if the price is good or not - remember to add vat and delivery but I got all of my systems for under 1/2 price. You also have an option to add extras when checking out your purchase such as bluetooth or on-site maintenance.
You need to be on the site at the times of day when new systems are loaded and be QUICK - check outletbargains.co.uk for more details.0 -
Too right you have to be quick. I had a laptop in my cart for a friend a couple of weeks ago. I removed it and it went back onto the site and (not being used to the site) took too long finding it. I'd say someone had found and snapped it up within 10 seconds.
I got a Inspiron 9300 laptop before Christmas for half the price that it was on the main site. 1.86ghz, 1.5gb RAM, 60GB 7200rpm hard drive, 128mb ATI graphics card, Windows Pro, Bluetooth, 17" screen, upgraded Wifi, and a carbon snap on cover. £711. I reckon I might still be able to make a small profit on ebay selling it. So there are bargains to be had. But just not many.0 -

i've bought quite a few laptops and pc's off this site, and they all came fully boxed unopened, and in mint condition. I think they are most likely PC's built for an order that is then cancelled OR built to use up slightly out of date motherboards etc.
For example, they recently increased the mininum spec of the Dell 6000 laptop to a 1.6 or 1.7 Ghz Centrino, but there must have been 100+ 1.4 Ghz machines on the outlet site, so i think they were just dumping stock.
There are people who make a living picking off the best stock on the site, so you have to be quick to get the best ones - try really odd times - i've got some of my best bargains at 4:00 in the morning ( i sometimes work nights )
Example of some of the savings i've made - i bought an absolute top spec Dell 510m about a year ago which was £1340 on their website, and i got it on outlet for £750 - the price of a low spec one at the time.
You could easily save £100 - £150 if you are prepared to take a bit of time....0
