Ok, my hubby was discharged from his bancruptcy two years ago, if he now applies for a loan is he likely to get one? Since the bankruptcy he has had a loan with Greenwood and Shopacheck, but we now urgently need more money than they will lend in one go. Does anyone know where his best bet would be?

His credit file is most likely to include details of his bankruptcy for 6 years so a lending decision may be harder to satisfy and now in harder times too.
I have in the past gone to my own bank where they had underwriters that would look at the conduct of your account. They may set a higher interest rate but not the excessive ones of the sub-prime lenders.
Brokers could be an option. Best to explore and not apply too often as searches / foot prints will appear on your file.0
