Bertorelli scam in the city!

I used the bertorelli vouchers posted not long about which clearly stated that it was one voucher per two people, up to a max of 10 people per table. One would assume given a maximum number of people were stated, that this meant you could use 5 vouchers...
OH NO!!! Bertorellis refused to honour our vouchers.. I was told that "although the voucher could be construed in that way" what it actually MEANT to say was one voucher per table.
They then prpduced another voucher they were giving away in the restaurant which did say that. However, our voucher, printed from their own website was worded completely differently - apparently according to our waiter - our voucher "meant" to say the same as the in restaurants ones..
But the fact is that it didn't.
Even when the manager came over they still refused to honour saying they had been told by head office that the voucher was not to be construed as the general public has been doing - apparently "they had lots of people like us"
In the end they flat out said they would not honour it and we had to pay the full whack.. NOT IMPRESSED and will not be returning - as professionals round the corner they have now lost alot of business as we used to use it for informal client lunches..

Unfortunately, this does not surprise me. I have eaten at Bertorelli's once before only because we had a voucher. The food was nothing special at all for the price they charged and the women serving us was quite simply the rudest waitress I have ever come across. I'm really sorry to hear about your bad experience seakelp, that sounds really rotten. I understand why you felt you had to pay full price though as if they're not going to honour a voucher there isn't very much you can do. Personally, If I was in that situation I would not just walk out and risk them calling the police, which, let's face it, if they are so pig ignorant to not honour an offer they may do!0
