    and what do they want.

A Google seems to suggest that it is a way for companies to send text from email/a PC etc.

What did it say? Was this a text or what?

Not got a lot to go on here......

I may be wrong but I think they replaced the telegram and were guaranteed to be delivered the following day (in the days before mobiles, e-mail and so on)

    Stupid letter reads

The above account remains unpaid. Please call 0845 070 3000 between 8;30am and 4;45pm to make payment in full or agree a payment.

Failure to contact may result in your account being passed to a debt collection agency or county court for summons.

No amount or account number and we have a different supplier now anyway.

    Hi BH
and we have a different supplier now anyway.
When you changed supplier, did you give an actual meter reading to both suppliers, or did they use an "Estimate"?

This sounds like a dispute with the meter readings between both suppliers (termination with one, and commencement with the other) resulting in an outstanding bill with your previous supplier.
