Where to buy the cheapest Baby cereals?

Hiya,

I'm wondering if there is any place out there that has Baby cereals on offer?

I always buy the Cow&Gate Cereals for 10+ months and I buy them a lot! So I'm interested in buying them in bulk,so I can't find any offers anywhere.

    Hi

Don't know of any offers but both my little ones loved weetabix by the time they were 10 months old.

Have you tried something like that ? alot cheaper than the baby cereals

I don't know if this would work but have you tried making your own? I have never bought baby cereals but just use porridge oats and make it up with milk and add dried apricots or prunes or whatever else I have lying about.

Failing that - do you have a costco card or know someone who does - they might have some there at a good price?

Yeah my madame had weetabix a lot too from an early age cos of the price thing (and even then it was never the branded stuff; cheapy no frills stuff! lol!). That and Ready brek style porridge (the big oaty stuff would always turn to paste by the time she decided to show any interest in it!). Then add some consistancy to it by adding raisens and chopped up apricots etc.

However, if its definately the baby cereal you want Lidl always seem to have them as a regular product. Boots sometimes do 3 for 2 (plus boots points and I used to get money off vouchers for them through the parenting club thingy).

The reason people use baby cereal is that it's enriched with iron, which at the time of weaning the stores in babies bodies begin to deplete. Porridge oats are not enriched. And before 6 months gluten should be avoided. I'm not sure, but at one time you used to be able to buy from hipp website at a good deal.

have you tried poundland? in my local store they often have organic baby food (can't for the life of me remember the brand, but it is sold in tesco's) i have a 12 month old and i give her weetabix made with full fat milk and with a mashed banana added.

    Hi

The main reason my little ones were having weetabix by 10 months + was they nicked their dad's.
They prefered his weetabix to their baby cereal !

However I didn't complain about the cost saving !
  • Thanks for the replies everyone :)

My 4 year old loves Tesco's own version of Readybrek, however my 2 year old is refusing to eat that. I tried that with mashed banana also. He won't eat Weetabix either and he isn't a bread fan either,so baby cereals are the only option here for now I think

The funny thing is that my 4 year old won't eat the baby cereals, he thinks they are disgusting and he will only eat Readybrek.

Just we go through a lot of packs of Cow&Gate cereals since he is eating quite a lot of it. He's eating it for breakfast, lunch and sometimes before he sleeps if he didn't eat a lot of his dinner.

Why don't Tesco start selling their own brand baby cereals?

I keep checking Tesco/Asda/Ocado for offers (I always order online) but I've never found anything good.

I will buy them for the full price also, but just it would be better if I could get it cheaper.

I'll keep an eye on Boots from now on.

I usually buy the Apple Crispy/Fruit Crispy/Banana 4grain cereal from Cow&Gate, but I think he will eat other brands baby cereals also, although I haven't tried, but they are basically the same.
  • Have you tried Bebevita Apple and Oat baby cereal, it s about £1.19 in my local Tescos and is in a slightly bigger box than the cow and gate, hipp organic ones so lasts longer?

Also Asda had the Hipp organic ones a while back for £1.00 so might be worth keeping an eye out there too
  • Tesco now has 2 for £3.00

They already had the 125gr boxes on offer, but they are small and include milk,so they will finish quickly.

But now they also included the 200gr banana multigrain in this offer which is about £2.30 each,so I'm happy with this offer :)

Have you tried looking in Home Bargains. They sometimes have Organix baby cereals in for 39p a box. Not always so I always buy quite a few when I see them They often have other baby food in cheap too - 39p for 2 etc. Handy to have in as a stand by.
