"Suspending" CSA?

After 6 years of no maintenance, I got the CSA involved. My self employed ex then agreed to pay me £20 a week by standing order for our son. I'm happy to accept that as I know as he's self employed I'm "lucky" to get anything.
However, I have received my first payment by standing order this morning and I'm well aware that if I call off CSA now, then the payments could stop next week.
Someone initially told me at the CSA that I couldn't put the case on "hold" and would have to close it if we came to a private agreement and if he stopped paying then I have to open a new case.
However, someone on the helpline this morning (why is my team never available?) told me that I can suspend the case and that after 6 years of no maintenance, I'd be mad to close the case after one payment.
Does anyone know what the score is?
Thanks.

you can't suspend a case, you would have to close it but you could go onto direct pay which keeps the case open but they don't chase for payments as they assume you have sorted it between yourselves. It gives you the option to ask them to collect again if he defaults.0
