Can anyone recommend a good foundation for really dry skin. I have been using Max Factor Mirace Illusion as I like a good coverage however my skin is so dry it is starting to flake after I put my make up on.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry not to answer your question directly, but have you considered changing your moisturiser?

Also try using Bio Oil on your face, I'm using it for a scar I have but it's having the added benefit of taking away the flakiness I have on my forehead (although my forehead can also be oily!)
Who'd be a woman eh?? lol

Bargain - I have tried every moisturiser under the sun, my mum also has the same skin type and I get E45 on prescription for my skin. But as I am getting a little older  I asked DH to get me Olay 7 signs for mothers day (prevention is the best cure) and I feel it is really making a difference on my skin and looks a lot firmer however the problem area for me is my nose.0

I have dry skin, and have tried all sorts of foundations, but the one I have just discovered (thanks to a freebie sample) is Diorskin Nude Foundation, which has a very high water content. It's not the cheapest foundation, but it's got a really natural finish, it's very light, although coverage is good and you really don't feel like you're wearing foundation. Best of all, it doesn't flake. I'd get yourself down to Boots or one of the department stores and see if they've got any samples you could try.0

Does that foundation stay on all day? I've got very dry skin also and was thinking of changing to the 'double wear light' as it will stay on me for ages but if the dior skin ne stays on then i may think of changing to that....:j Buster, Boo and now little Gizmo too!!! :j0 -
I think you may be better trying a primer underneath your foundation as this should make is stick and act as a barirer between your face and the make up, sorry if someone else has said this I havent read them allCan anyone recommend a good foundation for really dry skin. I'd advise asking for a sample at a Dior counter before changing. I tend only to use foundation when I'm going out, or very occasionally during the day. I find it lasts well but I'd say I have moderately dry skin.0 -
The only thing I ever use on my skin - no makeup either - is Virgin Coconut Oil. I'm from a tropical country and it's a well known secret that coconut oil is the best secret to youthful looking, firm skin especially when yo get older.
I'm 58 and I don't have a single wrinkle. If for some reasonI don't apply mu coconut oil (if I travel and forget to take some with me for instance) my skin feels as rough as sandpaper. Otherwise, every day just a tiny amount keeps my facial skin, as well as the skin on my legs, moisturised all day long.
You can get Virgin Coconut Oil online, or at Holland and Barret's, £10 for 500 grams. It's actually an edibleoilso use it in your cooking as well, fantastic and very healthy!0 -
My skins fairly dry, and I like Estee Lauder
FUTURIST, Nice and creamy and its anti aging too.
Its about £24 but lasts for 6 months or so. Even if use daily0 -
I use Clinique Supermoisture makeup which I find lasts all day and has a dewy finish. Go into Boots and ask for a sample or try it in store0
