Help with ebay feedback

Options
Hi- sorry for the mammoth post here but I am raging!

I recently placed an item on ebay (a designer purse) and a person bid on it. A few days later about 3 hours before the auction ended they contacted me to say they no longer wanted it as they had bought it elsewhere and would I cancel the bid. I refused on the grounds that they didn't have a genuine reason for cancelling the bid ie hit the wrong button or put in too large a bid. I told them there were several watchers and they would have to hope they were outbid.

The bid was then beaten about an hour later by someone else who only joined ebay on the day. I sent the purse which was brand new to them by recorded delivery. After 5 days they opened a dispute (weekend was in between this time and the time it took them to pay) saying I hadn't delivered it and I had ignored their emails (they didn't send any).

They then left me negative feedback saying that the purse was dirty and obviously used which it wasn't. It was my sisters and had been in her cupboard for a few years as she didn't use it, was still in the designer box etc etc.

I have requested that the buyer removes the negative feedback but I'm not holding out much hope. Is there another claims dispute I can go through as this is quite annoying me. I submitted tracking information to Paypal so the funds should be freed soon but I am worried if they say that the purse is damaged they will return it to me damaged.

I also have a feeling that it is the same person that opened the other account as it seems a bit fishy that they took offence so quickly when they didn't receive the item, especially a new buyer- I certainly wouldn't have known how to open a dispute with paypal when I first started on ebay.

Anybody got any ideas of where I should go from here.

This may have been better placed on the ebay board.

There is nothing you can do about a buyer having two accounts it is allowed, however you can report someone for malicious bidding and I would be tempted to persist with that to get the negative removed. Just keep going through the template complaint and let ebay know that you believe buyer only bid in order to leave a negative.

As for the paypal claim, does the online tracking actually show as delivered, that is the important bit. If so then make sure paypal realise you have added the tracking number showing that buyer has their item, I am also assuming here that the original paypal payment stated 'OK to send' and that you sent to the address supplied by paypal.

I would also say that when getting a request to remove a bid it is always best to comply, why let a bid stand if you know buyer doesn't want the item, it always ends in problems. Anyway, with 3 hours to go buyer was not able to remove their own bid anyway as it was too late so only the seller could do it.

How much money are we talking here?

as time rolls on, ebay only seems to get worse and worse, i stopped using it months ago due to the hassles from scammers and the likes.. ebay dont seem to care about their customer base either, never had a good experience with them and i was a member for years...good buy to bad rubbish IMHO
