I've never obtained proof of postage and they've been delivered and received fine.

It would be more hassle for me to go to the Post Office if every time I sent a DVD back I had to queue up to obtain proof of postage rather than just drop it into a post box at the bottom of my road.

I guess it depends on how "honest" your local delivery/sorting office is.

if you post a disc and it gets lost, on your lovefilm account, there's a link to 'report a problem'. you can tell lovefilm through that and fill in a wee form and lovefilm take it up with royal mail and update your list and send you something else out from your list,
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

i've used lovefilm off and on for years and honestly the only time i'd worry about getting POP for the discs is when you're sending the last ones back when you cancel an account.

i've had 2 lost in the post over the years and not had problems with that, i've also had broken discs and they didn't try to charge me. mind you if you continue to report missing discs they might take action as that would be suspect, overall though i've not found it necessary to obtain POP for normal transactions and only do it for those that will finalise the account to cover my backside ;)
