...and made for the Fall's where I [STRIKE]abandoned[/STRIKE] parked on a wide footpath at the Church/Chapel? with a few other cars. I left enough room for pram's/wheelchairs/virgins on donkey's and hoped the blue badge would magically deflect any tickets... happily, it did :D this time :o
Last time (3 months ago) I parked on the Grosvenor Road, the parking restrictions ended at 9:30am - so I parked on the road, not the path. Less chance of getting a ticket INHO. Check next time! The walk wasn't as far as the outer reaches of the main car park.

Thanks Les. OH dropped me off at the front today and picked me up after, much easier. There are 4 disabled parking spaces right at the front doors but it would be mission impossible trying to get one I imagine. I'm just going to get himself to drop me off/collect me tomorrow and them I'm taking the weekend off hospital duties! Brother is able to move about quite well by himself now (albeit slowly) and is coming round from the meds/surgery/shock. They're hoping to discharge him over the weekend. Then it'll probably be another year before I see him again... if he can stay out of trouble that long pffttt!

There is no doubt that parking at the Royal is a nightmare but please don't park in the car park for the childrens unless you are going in there - I am at the hospital regularly with my sick son and it is so fustrating waiting for at least 20 mins every time to get parked (that's on a good day!). Even worse is when my son is an inpatient and I am trying to get parked and in so that my husband can get home for some sleep/get to work/mind our other son etc. The whole car parking issue just adds to an already stressful situation.
