Hi, sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum (please move it if you want to!)
Just want to encourage people to haggle with your existing broadband supplier when your contract is up for renewal as there are some good deals to have.
eg. We live in a rural areas and so we can't get Martin's cheap deals like o2 etc so have been with bt for a few years now. (option 3 is meant to be £24.50/mnth but last year they reduced it for me to £22.50/mnth) I rang them today and said I was thinking of moving to Virgin at £15/month and they started by offering me £3 off at £19.50/mnth but I asked if they could do better and this is the 18 mnth deal I now have...
6 months completely free and then 12 months at £22.50 (which works out at £15/mnth) for BT option 3 (unlimitted downloads) and they are going to send me the latest new hub and broadband phone and give me free evening and weekend calls on this new broadband phone (which has it's own direct number!)
I know some people don't like bt broadband but I'm sure the principle is the same with all providers.
