Does anyone recognise this number?

I got a voice mail on my mobile phone today asking me to call 0141 228 3067, does anyone recognise this number?

The message didn't mention me by name so I think they have the wrong number, but I'd still like to know who I am dealing with if they should call back.

Thanks

  • Thanks for your help.

I did think it might be a DCA calling. The message was for someone else entirely, I suppose I'll have to see if they believe that when they call back.

Is there anything I should / shouldn't do if they do call back (obviously I won't give them my details)?

Simply don't go through their security questions. The onus is on them to prove that you owe the money not on you to prove that you don't.

Tell them that you are not the person they are looking for and that they are breaking debt collection guidelines by chasing the wrong person and that you are noting the calls.

There is a template for a telephone harrassment letter somewhere - am not good at links tho!

  • I'm pretty sure I've had a call or 2 from this number, it's definately a DCA. I've never answered the calls but I'm pretty sure they're working on behalf of either RBS or Citifinancial.
Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.

If it's AIC I used to deal with them for an Abbey National debt
