Ocado offers - don't get caught out!

I shop once a month with Ocado and was excited to find my favourite Ecover products on offer - Buy 3 and get the cheapest free. Foolishly, I thought that if I bought 3 items the same I would be getting one free. I stocked up on 3 each of 6 different Ecover products, expecting to save £14.57.

Be Warned! It doesn't work like that - so I was told when I complained at only saving £8.19. Only the 6 cheapest items came free. I would not have stocked up like this if I'd realised. I would only have purchased the more expensive products. The maximum (3 for the price of 2) saving I thought I was organising would have only worked if I had bought, say, just the laundry liquid and none of the other products.

I shall certainly take more care next time I shop. One lives and learns!!

Boots are more generous - but maybe that's because one can manipulate items going through at a live till!

All supermarkets do that - that's whey you see people at the tills with shopping split into different lots! One advantage of doing a shop in-store.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

although the best-deal-for-customer from M&S and Sainsbury Christmas 324 gifts is automatically worked out on the till.
I have split my shop into different lots in both stores and the assistants told me that if you have 3 items at £13.99 and 3 at £3.99, you get 1 of each free. I checked the receipt and they were right.
But then, this could be because of the amount people buy at that time of year, if everyone had several separate transactions in their trolley, it would take much longer to go through the tills. ;)
