Hurrah for Bird's Eye

Had a rather nasty experience with their fish fingers the other week - two very large and sharp bones or plastic pieces (we couldn't determine which) embedded in a fish finger, which I managed to cut the inside of my cheek on.
Sent off the offending articles, along with a letter outlining my concerns that had a small child been eating them, they could've choked.
Received a very apologetic letter from their CS within a week of my letter being sent (and their letter came from a different place to where I sent it - ironically I sent my letter to their Surrey address on the box, the reply came from my own hometown of Milton Keynes!). Said letter was signed by the person who wrote it, profusely apologising, a full enquiry would take place etc etc.
Also enclosed: a Walls/Birds Eye £5 voucher, and a £10 postal order as compensation.
Can't complain at that! (wasn't a pleasant experience, mind!)

Hello indiegirl
I'm pleased that you've had a good response from Bird's Eye. I believe that their food passes through on-line inspection machines (using x-rays) to detect any bones or foreign objects............so I'm sure they'll be investigating your complaint thoroughly.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. I had the same experience a long time ago when my daughter was about 5
(shes now 18)
She did choke on her bone but luckily I was there and no lasting harm was done.
I rang them and they sent her a teddy bear and a £15 postal order, I thought it was a bit cheeky as they aim fishfingers specifically at children and if they aren't taking proper precautions, its the children who will end up suffering.Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
I had to make a complaint to Birds Eye a couple of years ago, and they were very quick to respond and send out vouchers worth about 8 times the value of the item. Customer service is something they obviously take very seriously.0
