Barclays Career Development Loan

Back in 1993 I took out a career development loan to the value of £5211.22. A year after I became disabled. I started paying this off at £20 per month. There have been a succession of solicitors each one wanting more money.

Last October I increased it to £35 per month. The debt is now down to£1981.55.

I have just had a call from the solicitors asking me to increase the amount I pay, which is just not possible at the moment as all the household bills have increased, but I was actually being hassled into putting this balance on to a credit card. If I had enough balance on a card that would mean paying interest on this loan, which would put so much strain on my finances. She said she would call back at the end of may for my answer.

What can I do about this.

Any help really appreciated.
