I have bought plain stationery and now need to tie it in to the colour scheme which is purple/plum.
I got the confetti simple elegance and am stuck for what to do with them to make them fit my colour scheme.I tried little dewberry organza bows on the cards but it wasn,t elegant enough,I didnt like it.I would appreciate ideas please, something simple. The link goes to my set of wedding invitation piccies.

What about getting a rubber stamp you like and using purple/plum ink? Or looking out for fancy papers you can use as a layer? I've also seen scrapbooking papers in Laura Ashley (also sold in Millers Art shop in Glasgow) that are really beautiful and could be used on invites. Paperchase in Edinburgh is brilliant for lovely papers as well.Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

I never seem to have the time to sit down and get organised to make my invitations from scratch so I bought these really plain ones with just an embossed heart, white on white, and gold text. Was hoping to come up with some brilliant idea to turn those into something special but Ithe ideas are just not coming to me.
The style of invitations I really like though, and will have to find time to make, are the plummy ones on my flickr set."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Why not match up some nice plum mulberry paper and glue down the side. You can cut the out side edge next the fold and then feather the inside edge ..you are prob only talking an inch thick but would give a nice finish.. (to feather -just paint straight line with water and then pull apart - practice 1st) - you could then put some nice fine silver ribbon over this.0

Looking at them again I can see it's a bit tricky to change them. BOBS idea is good. The other thing I would think about doing would be to 'colour in' the innermost heart with plum mulberry paint. Or cut out the shape in nice paper and glue it in, that would be pretty fiddly though.
The only other thing I can think of would be to paint over the whole thing in a plum wash, but that would look pretty homemade and rustic and probably not the effect you're going for. But maybe that idea will inspire someone else here to come up with something better!Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

I have found a nice ribbon on ebay which I think I will try.Its 3mm ,deep plum velvet with a gold edge down both sides.I will try it up the left hand side of the cards and see what it looks like.I love the cut out idea."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0

Hey, one of our friends had some lovely simple invites with purple. They had 2 slightly different shades of slim plain purple ribbon.
They crossed over on the front of the card so they looked like an x, slightly off the the left. Then a little card piece with invitiation <invitiation| that came from the middle of the x. Hope that makes sense, camera playing up or I'd post a picture
