Mortgage for non UK taxpayer

I am a UK resident who has my own business abroad. As my salary is not paid in the UK, I don't pay UK tax on my salary. I am trying to get a mortgage to buy a property in UK but the high street banks say I need to be a UK taxpayer. Any advice on lenders which may be able support my application or what steps I need to take to become eligible.

I know one very small lender - but I cant reveal them here as they don't want to be inundated with applications. Rate is high though, so wouldn't recommend it long term.
Buy to let my be worth some thought as long as the buildings insurance tallies with the occupancy. The lender will want to see the insurance.
Most B2L requires you to state a minimum earned income. Proof can be requested at random.0
