Maybe the OP should acknowledge the poster who first brought this to his attention on the G&E forums? Manners and all that.

PS Dave - make sure you land on a tariff that doesn't require an exit fee and you will be fine.Call me Carmine....

It's only a bargain if you save money in the process - so do your homework by checking your spend (or to be more accurate the actual kWh usage) over the last year and whack it into uSwitch or similar - I've just moved to EDF's Annual Fix though the cheapest fixed tariff now is E.On's FixOnline which also has a £62 cashback for dual-fuel.The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Both of those have exit fees, though, so it can be argued you would need to add those into the yearly figure showing on uswitch in order to fairly compare with tariffs that don't have an exit fee, surely? Personally (and I realise it absolutely IS a personal decision) I wouldn't go near a fixed tariff that has exit fees...especially at the moment.Call me Carmine....
