Stone fireplace at a reasonable price?

Options
I'm looking for a new stone fireplace to replace our existing hideous mahogany monstrosity. I fancy a limestone surround or similar, basically something neutral and definately not a wood surround. It's for an open fire so we'll probably go for a cast iron inset and a hearth to match the surround.

I've seen a few I like on the Portadown Fireplaces and Castlestone Fireplaces websites but I've no idea what their prices are like.

Can anyone recommend a place with reasonable quality fireplaces within easy driving distance of Belfast that won't break the bank?

When I wanted a new limestone surround for my open fire the fireplace places put me off. They said it would stain and would only recommend natural stone be used with an artificial fire.

In the end I went for an oak surround and cast iron inset and am very pleased with it. Got it at Fireplaces Direct, used their recommended fitters and was happy with the price and service.

Got mine from Portadown Fireplaces, went in with an idea (slate fireplace) and they custom made it for me. Prices wasnt too bad , finished product/ installation /workmanship was excellent.

Well, we went to Portadown Fireplaces and we were very impressed. The Salesman said they could make anything we wanted in any size, and at a reasonable price. They make up the fireplace, you go down and check you're happy before they install it and if there's something you don't like they'll change it.

He didn't do the hard sell at all - we explained that we don't anticipate staying in the house too long so he also told us what would be our cheapest options leaving us to make the decision what we wanted to do. We're going to go back with the measurement and pictures of the kind of thing we would like and take it from there. We'll probably opt for limestone (with black granite inset and hearth) - that way hopefully it won't be too difficult to keep it looking good!

I have to say I got a great feeling about this place and the service they offer - much better than in any of the other showrooms we've been too.
