Lowell and Hamptons Legal

My partner's mother had two outstanding debts with Lowell. I have sent them 2 recorded delivery letters with her SOA and offer of payment for the first debt. They have ignored both of these. They keep sending letters and now they have passed the debt to their ''legal'' department Hamptons. Which I know is just Lowell under a different name.

They keep hassling her to ring them, which we won't do, because then they'll have her number. How can I make them respond to the letters and not keep ignoring them?

Cheers guys

They are for catalogues which were taken out on the internet after April 2007. So CCAs mean zilch!

Shame! How about she just start sending them the payments as per her proposal?

We could do, but they will just keep pestering her for more, and she can't be doing with the letters to be honest. We have done well so far, we got Westcot to agree to £5 a month on a debt of £15,000. The last repayment date is the year 2277, which is mad. But this is just until her situation improves.

Lowell are horrible, they just keep ignoring the letters! It is very fustrating.

I had issues with a couple of people not getting back to me over offers of payment, in the end I set up a standing order for the amount (token £1 a week) and they got it whether they liked it or not lol. I would start paying the weekly amount, they cant say that you arent trying that way. If it did go to court the judge would just throw it out as they havent done anything to help.
