Concert Tickets

Hi there,

I would like to surprise my boyfriend with concert tickets for him and his friend/s...hopefully sometime towards the end of the year or even later whenever I can find something nice..

Anyone know of any good sites where I can search for concert dates and tickets, preferrable a site where I can see any future concerts/ events coming up, way in advance...because I have heard that as soon as tickets go on sale, they are sold out within hours and I would have to get them for much more on e-bay?
** i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay **

Try https://www.ents24.com They list gigs and you can also subscribe to their email list to be notified of bands you want to see as soon as information is released.
  • someone on here the other day posted https://www.gigs.co.uk

dig around the clicks a bit ... you'll find all sorts

    another big one is https://www.ticketline.co.uk
  • I generally try and avoid ticket agents, and instead try to go direct to the venue to order concert tickets. The reasons behind this are: I hate paying over the odds booking fees and postage costs, which ticket agents charge, also, I tend to find that contacting the venue direct results in tickets arriving well in advance of the concert, whereas ticket agents tend to leave the dispatching of the tickets till last minute.

Also, if the venues do not sell tickets, local record or music shops, or local city halls usually sell them on behalf of the venue. So, check that route out too. For tickets to see anything at a uni or carling academy, I usually contact the local city hall. It's quick, easy and all done over the telephone using local telephone numbers as opposed to ticket agents who only have 0870 contact numbers, and then they keep you waiting in a cue.

A good tip too when wanting tickets to concerts that usually sell out quite fast is join the bands mailing lists usually via their own websites or the record label websites. This way, you get an invite days before the tickets go on sale to purchase tickets in advance, usually called pre-sale.

I have been lucky enough to get tickets to see Nine Inch Nails and Richard Ashcroft this way.

    Dont give up on Ebay.........

Lots of people are now buying tickets and trying to make a few bob by selling them on ebay BUT..... they seem to be coming unstuck as a lot are selling at below cost price.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Richard ashcroft for example over the past 24 hours.
I save so I can spend.

I have used http://www.scarletmist.com/default.asp It is a site where people sell their unwanted tickets to others at FACE VALUE. I sold some Oasis tickets on there with no problems.

You will find that tickets for gigs/concerts are usually on there much closer to the actual event rather than being offered far in advance. So if you look a week or so before the concert you may be able to get tickets at face value to a show that was previously sold out and going for silly money on ebay.

    Hope this helps

Problem is with ebay, the sellers haven't actually received the tickets. They may have purchased them, but ticket agents usually send out tickets last minute. I've even had tickets sent to me on the day of the gig, and sometime ticket agents have requested I pick tickets up at the venue on arrival also showing credit card on which the tickets where bought. So, buyers of tickets from ebay may never actually receive the tickets they have purchased from the ebay sellers. So beware.
