Self Build and Renovation Mortgages

Hi All
I was just wondering if any members could recommend any mortgage providers that lend on properties requiring renovation or for self builds (including the acquisition of the plot). I'm already aware of the Ecology Building Society, Buildstore and the Norwich and Peterbrough Building Society. I wasn't impressed with the Co-op's rates so no need to mention them!
Additionally, if anybody has advice on getting mortgages for Empty (dilapidated) homes I'm all ears.
Thanks.

Hi, my husband and I did a self build (still doing so 4 years later, but thats another story) and have our mortgage with TMB, the mortgage business. They have been excellent especially as we also had to have a self cert due to my husband being self-employed.OS Grocery Challenge

just looked up TMB - they are no longer accepting new business
Has anybody dealt with 85percent.co.uk? or the freestyler mortgage thingy with Standard Life?

I think some people on Landlord zone have dealt with 85percent.co.uk so it might be worth asking on there.
I looked into them but the fees were very high.0
