ooh thanks for this discobaby, ive been looking at academies for getting my hair done but im a little nervous. im wondering of anyone has been to these before?
I cant afford to pay for a proper salon cut.
does anyone know how long they take? im guessing longer than a standard hair cut

This is brill a bit far for me - but great.

I have had my hair coloured by trainees at Toni and Guy before and it was fantastic - supervised the whole time. It did take hours and I was pretty fed up by the end but a super job for only £15!

    Go for it!

I've been to the London one (Hammersmith) many times. It's great, although it does take a while. How long depends on who you get and how exerienced they are. I've had a woman who was the head stylist at a very posh Scottish hotel and the next time I went I had a young woman who had only been hairdressing for a couple of weeks. But I would allow at least a couple of hours. You also need to let them know when you book, whether you want highlights, or a full head of colour and whether you are feeling adventurous or want something more natural. to ensure they book you in for the correct class. Hope this helps.

Just phoned Manchester, they don't know anything about it but said they do model appointments where first appt free with follow ups at £15 (same as cosmo offer) however you need to go in on a Thursday to register which would mean 2 journeys. Worth it if your local.

you have to register with these academies so they can see what your hair is like. they wont let a new student loose on someone who has hair thats going to be too difficult for them. they'll match u to someone with an appropriate skill level.
