I've been given the name of an architect who will put our planning permission through for us and design our house, John Kirkpatrick in Saintfield. Has anyone ever used him or have any similar recommendations?
Thanks

What with apparently around 400 Architects now unemployed I'd imagine you shouldn't have much trouble finding one... 10 a penny at the moment.....
I heard of a new McDonalds opening in Dublin and not one person working there doesn't have a Degree. Architects, Engineers.. you name it.. they could probably have built the place never mind flipping Burgers in it. (Don't know how true it is but have heard it from a few industry people)0 -

Well it would probably be well designed, be structurally sound in it's foundations and look the part but won't have been put together as the Architect Intended. There would then be a halt put on production while the Surveyor assertained where the Assembly went wrong. Possibly the Gurkins went on before the Lettuce so it would have to be re-made under Scrutiny from the Production Control until all parties are happy with the Final Build. Then they'll realise the Customer didn't want Tomato!!0

Line drawers ! Cut & pasters !
What do you mean??? they also have to Fillet, Radius, Trim, Extend and numerous other single and double clicks of a mouse button... You seem to insinuate that these people are just taking designs previously drawn up for other people and just stretching them around a bit. Slanderous!!:rotfl::rotfl:I know a few and still can't figure out why they charge so much.
For talking to the planners?
I have to say, I wouldn't want to have to deal with the Planners. If they are all the same as the bunch of Kn*bs  my Brother In Law has had to deal with it would be money well spent..0 -
