I'd be interested in Martin's view on this. Whether you've already spent, or have to spend, is irrelevant - one way or another spending is a requirement and hence it's not a Freebie.

You can kid yourselves if you like, but if you could get your heads around this one greater benefits may follow. It's all little pedantic I agree, but there's fundemental underlying psychology here that addicted spenders need to get to grips with. A Bonus isn't a Freebie :rotfl:

So, in that case, the 'free' texts shouldn't be on this forum as you have had to buy a mobile phone in order to get them, the 'free' software shouldn't be on here as you have had to buy a pc in order to benefit from it, the 'free' water hippo shouldn't be here as you are ob. paying for water if you need one - It does not cost anything in addition to what you are already spending in order to claim the FREE treats, therefore, the OP is not suggesting you go and spend money to get this, therefore it IS a FREEBIE - at the end of the day, if you really want to be that pedantic - what is a freebie? if you order a freebie online, it is costing you ISP fees, if you phone, albeit a freephone number, it is costing your time, if you drive to the letterbox to send a freeposted envelope, it is costing you fuel, at the end of the day NOTHING is totally FREE, but the intentions of this board are for items that you do not have to physically part with cash for, and in this instance, you don't. Thank you OP, I have just claimed my treat, extra mins for the next 3 months.

Glad to see the majority of people appreciated my post.

Strange that such a new member thinks that other posters are ignorant because they dont share his/her views.

Getting back on track of this topic, these treats are not for everyone. Basically not everyone qualifies. Tried it 3 months ago, and was told that as I was on a special tariff (thanks to the haggling tactics of this forum) I did not qualify.

    Not impressed......

just received text from 02 to say that from 2nd May, they will be charging me for this 'free' treat. I feel a bit misled as didnt realise that they would automatically start charging for this at the end of the3 month period. Anyone else caught out by this??
