my wedding

i have read a few other threads, and thought id get your opinions on my wedding this year:
im getting married this year, and we both want a small do.
it looks like we will have the wedding at the local registry office, and we are not having a party afterwards, we are having a meal with both families.
we were going to have a honeymoon, but neither of us are bothered about that because we have nice holidays anyway.
it wont detract from the occasion, and we are not trying to save money, we are both contented with our plan.
we live together, and have done for nearly a year, we do everything together and go most places together.
do you think this sounds a little lame?
i dont, and i dont normally care what others think, but here on MSE you are mostly good people who's input i would value!
im 26 btw.

Its your wedding and you can do what you want, no one is going to say anything, as long as you're both happy then do you need anything else?0

I think it is a fab idea. We are having a small wedding and it's because we want it to be intimate with only the people there that matter and also down to cash. I never believe in paying money for something if I can get it or make it cheaper. I hope you have a lovely day, Tiger xMarried the most amazing man 05/12/09 and it was the best day ever, I'm a Mrs, he he!!:jWins 2009: Peroni Alessi bowl woohoo, 1 in 10 wins DVD from Maltesers, Avon lippy!!!Freebies-Bold Gel, CoffeePinecone Research - £9Mystery Shopping - £150

At the end of the day its your wedding, nobody else's, so if its what you want and its what you are happy with then who cares what anyone else thinks!
Go for it!0 -
Setting aside the bells, smells and wedding favours the purpose of the event is for the couple to make a commitment to each other and enter into a legal partnership in front of at least two witnesses.
Hopefully your loved ones will enter into a commitment to give you love and support when the going gets tough.
Good luck for a long and happy marriage. I hope that you will be as happy as we are.'You can't change the past, you can only change the future' Gary Boulet.

Sounds great, the only thing that really matters is that it is what you want it to be, my sister had 16 guests at her wedding, it was in a lovely old building, then a meal in a pub, sponge cake, no bridesmaids, no best man etc, her & my brother-in-law dis exactly what they wanted & it was a great day.

I think everyone should do exactly what they want on their wedding day. We are having a registry office wedding and a party at home for friends. I think the only consideration for me would be whether I would regret not having more of an occasion. But I personally hate being the centre of attention at big occasions, so I'm really happy to forego the stress of that. I was talking to a friend the other day who is having a huge wedding - massive budget, castle etc...and he just isn't looking forward to the day, which I think is a shame. Hope you have a lovely time!0

If you are sure that this is what you want and you are sure this is what your W2B wants then, that is the only thing you need to know
I am sure it will be a lovely, intimate occasion.0 -
I agree its up to you to have what you want it is your day, however is there something that you dont like about it, or are unsure about maybe one element. I am just questioning your post? xLoves Vegas shopping and beauty products!0

As the others have said its your wedding so do what you want, the main thing is that you your fiance are doing what you both want and the commitment that you'r giving each other.
Good luck

My dughter booked the big venue and set about compiling a guest list that reached the 200 mark for the evening reception, when they stopped for a breath they questioned what they were doing.
They've decided that they were just being swept along by the hype of 'wedding frenzy'and what's sort of expected these days so they've cancelled the big posh venue and are slipping off to be married abroad.
They are so much happier and tbh it is more 'them'.
You go with whatever you are happy with and don't give in to pressure from 'outside' be it friends, family or media. It's your day and you do what is best for you.
Have a wonderful day.0
