    Beanie - I went to a pound shop and bought every pink girlie thing I could find and put it in a basket - all nicely presented? plastic beads, a wand some wings, plastic shoes(!) tiara, feather boa, cost about 5-6 quid?
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    My niece used to love all the sparkly stuff and pink - how about buying a mug (obviously saying something intellectual like Princess) and filling it with lip gloss and hair stuff...put some tissue paper round it and wrap in cellophane... tie with a bow at the top! could do for less than a fiver.
