cheers for that - didn't see Tesco doing anything similar when I was there yesterday (I stand to be corrected however) so it'll be a trip to the other side of town tomorrow :D

I've noticed that every Tesco's I’ve visited seems to have huge numbers of Easter eggs on the shop floor (staked on the floor, ontop of displays etc) - so many, they'll never shift these in the next few days .... personally - I’m getting ready for a serious reduction on these by the end of the week .... (does anyone at Tesco’s - have any insider knowledge on this?)

PS - My avatar is for life not just for Easter ;)

Sainsbury had them at this price about 6 weeks ago, then the put the price up......it looks as if theyve all over estimated demand............at £1 they are good value even if compared wit a normal bar of chok

2 weeks ago I brought some from Sainsburys that where 2 for £2.

Also I heard in the branch I was in on yesterday the price of the £1 eggs would go back up on Tuesday.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)

Every supermarket I have been in recently has been absolutely stuffed to the gills with Easter Eggs. Methinks the buyers have got carried away this year. Like the previous poster has said, there are going to be some serious bargains after Easter for the chocoholics amongst us....

I understand the reason for the "glut" in Easter eggs this year is due to Woolworths ordering eggs, prior to their (unfortunate) demise. The choc eggs/raw materials had already been produced/purchased etc .... hence we now have far more eggs in shops than was anticipated .... supermarket buyers grasped the opportunity to buy (the Woolworths destin) eggs in bulk/cheep. Although I suspect they might not now make the "profits" they were e(gg)xpecting !!

Hopefully loads more really cheep eggs next Monday ....

    ;)

Just been to Sainsburys and the medium eggs are still £2 each. Asked at customer services and they said they knew nothing about them being £1 each.
