GOOD NEWS!!! ... as you may be able to tell from the many yellow dancing people, I am very very excited! :D

I have now repaid more than HALF of my debts and (twin victory) they are now under £2k for the first time in I don't know how long!!! AND my CC is under £1k!! (the CC is my target debt as it's the most worrying so to see this come down is amazing!)

As you will see from my sig nothing is being neglected either, the holiday fund has £200 so far (to stop me increasing debt when I go, I find it better to save up, even though I know this will delay my DFD) ... and £99 saved towards Xmas so far (plus some vouchers I have knocking around in various corners of the apartment).

This is especially big for me as it's a year where my work has decided on a pay freeze (yet I am still within budget and taking the debt down one step at a time) and where I have only had extremely minimal OT available due to my health - perhaps 3 hours extra each month.

So - THANKYOU!!! to Martin for the site and great articles, and especially, thankyou to everyone here on DFW for all of your amazing advice and support - I know I can get quite down sometimes what with my health and such - and you are all stars for putting up with me :o thankyou, it is appreciated more than you know xx

....
now, only £821.84 left to repay to hit the 75% of debt repaid mark ... hmm *note to self: come up with a cunning plan!!* :p

No a holiday is good, see anyone on this journey must have treats/something to look forward too. It may be a takeaway once a month, a magazine once a month or a holiday once every 6months. However the key is to budget it into your outgoings, just like you have saving for it. Its when the treats arnt budgetted, like a new bag at lunch time because you are having a bad day. Or when they arnt treats and are part of a normal week, so a dvd rental on Friday night then 3 pints every Saturday. Anyone can have a treat as long as its budgetted :j

Congrats Jenna, it must be a marvelous feeling.

I especially wanted to say congrats because not only have you done really well with busting your debt, you have also given fantastic support and advice to other posters on here, I was really impressed with some of your posts on a thread a short while ago (the person on the Chanel Islands) so congrats and thank you from me :D

    budgeted

this is the important word when it comes to your hols and christmas.

I see some people who are like extreme dieters - totally debt busting, crack and spend some cash, feel they've failed so spend some more cash, feel terrible and start extreme debt busting again.

You are learning new habits as well as paying off your debts.

Well done (I wish I could apply the same lessons to losing weight ;))

Thanks PAP that does make sense :o

Aww thanks poorandindenial, that's really nice to hear :o , it must be said I know I must have taken up hours of other people's time on here with my problems (aka whinging :rotfl:) so I do try to return the favour where I can.

Numpty - well my OH might think it a little odd that you were coming with us:rotfl:but sure, why not! :p

Sou - yes, weight is a different thing to debts hey? Good luck with it ;) I am sure you will do just fine.

    Thanks guys again xx
