Light at the end of the tunnel!!

Dear All

I have posted on here a few times about my husbands troubles with his ex-wife & the CSA claim. The case closed a few years ago and they have been chasing arrears of £45,000, based on a penalty assesment.

Well we bit the bullet and finally got in touch with them in January to try and resolve this issue. My husband always paid for his kids and has always taken a very active role in their life, he simply couldn't prove it as payments were cash. Anyway, I am just posting to report that is has all been resolved, we sent in income proof for the period in question, and the CSA converted the case to a proper assesment, and it reduced from £45,000 to £10,900. The PWC admitted all along that he had paid £10,250 (but thought he should have paid much more) and so that was was deducted from the £10,900, giving an arrears balance of £660 odd - such a relief when we thought we might loose everything!!!! The lady we dealt with at the CSA was helpful and always did what she promised, and after reading these boards for the last few months that was the last thing I expected. So we have paid the arrears and the court date that was set for this coming Wednesday for an LO to be served has been cancelled.

Just wanted to put it "out there" that all things considered the CSA were not that bad!!!! I know....It shocked the hell out of me too!!

Thanks for all your help and advice over the last few months, it's been a huge help. Good luck to everyone still else fighting the good fight.

Great news and it proves that not all PWCs are corrupt - she could easily have denied it and she would have got away with it too!!!!

very good to hear. Hope to get news on my case soon.

problem is the LO has been served, but they have admitted sending letters to the incorrect address and I was not served with 7 days notice the LO would take place. It was based on on either a IMA or Emrgency assessment>

I've been given to the 17th April to fill out a series of forms. Then it will be re-assessed fingers crossed.

kath, all the best and thankfully your troubles are past you.
