I guess so. But the point is the current system does not allow it in a lot of cases. It only works if both parties are reasonable and can come to agreement on numerous issues. If one party is not in agreement they can bring the whole thing down in one go.
The whole way children are dealt with in this country regarding residency etc is wrong.
A complete overhaul is well overdue in matters such as CSA,courts, child benefit and all the other payments like tax credits. The system is completely inflexible and allows one side complete dominance in a lot of cases.
I find it staggering that in this day and age this completely unacceptable way of thinking and implementing child related issues is allowed to remain.0
