  • Got round to doing a car boot sale today, had sorted out the stuff for it ages ago but was waiting til it wasn't so cold

Made around £75 which was slightly less than what i was hoping for

Was so tempted to go out and spend the money though, got the urge to buy a dvd player (reduced from £59.99 to £39.99) cos i like one  or a new printer (laser cos using toner costs less than ink cartridges, for £59.99)

But tried to be good and added £35 to my savings, and paid off £35 on the credit card

and have a few pounds left over for a treat

But should i sod the expense and buy one (either printer or dvd player) before the price goes up?

Well done on doing the boot sale :T I am sorry it didn't turn over as much as you'd hope but £75 is still a very respectable amount.

The printer/DVD player is a hard one. I would say if you need either of them for work, then look into getting them. I doubt that you do but don't really know what line of work you are in

Keep at it and hold back if you can. The prices may go up but they will go down again and by that time, you will be in a more comfortable position ;)

I'm no moneysaver, but I can see where people waste money.

    Do you need either?

Given a choice I'd go for the ...
    ... none tbh.

But a printer seems better if you start selling ...

I few of us have suggested that you take on extra work, or get a part time job. I understand that you might have reasons for not doing this, but tell us why . We might have other suggestions that would work. Just think, just an extra £50 a week is £2,600 a year!

Also, all extra money should really go into servicing your debt, as this in turn saves you money, rather than into the savings pot which isn't really helping you to escape this situation.
  • Haven't updated this for a bit

Mortgage saga is still going on!

After Northern Rock they tried Halifax who somehow credited checked me at the wrong address and then said no after 2 months of messing around (grrrr!)

    So now its Nationwide

Debt has reduced as can be seen from the signature

Walking to work now instead of catching the bus which is a weekly saving of £10 or £520 a year which can be used to reduce my debt.

Have started really hitting the survey and pigsback type sites as any amount of cash or rewards will help (especially with Christmas just around the corner)
