Newspapers from any date!

Hi there,
I have been advised that there exists a website where you can get newspaper articles from any date for free. Can this possibly be true!? And if so, what is the address?
I am looking for one from 1929, so I don't know how easy it will be to find one from them. However, if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks

Not sure if it will help, but if you go to the genealogical website cyndislist.com/england - you should find a newspaper section. You may find what you are looking for there. Good luck0

They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

The Irish Times are currently doing this to celebrate their 150th anniversary. I'm not sure how long the archive is available for - the person who told me about it said that it was a limited time offer.
I'm not allowed to post the link "as a new user". (How long does that last?) Maybe one of the mods can edit my post to provide an actual link based on the following:
www dot irishtimes dot com forward slash 150

Hiya, after having a little search around these are the best two I can find:
http://archive.scotsman.com/

On the off-chance you're studying at a University, you can ask them for your Athens password that they should be able to provide you with, or I am sure if you ask sweetly enough, they will pay for you to have 24 hour access to any paying sites you require.
I know this doesn't really help very much, but I've not heard of any sites that offer the service you're looking for... yet!0 -
I can view The Times online from 1785-1985 for free by using my library card number. I'd check out your local library's website to see if they do the same.0

British Library National Newspaper Archive is at Colindale in London.
You'd have to speak to them but you could probably get a photocopy for a fee.
Not free either but you can purchase from

I used to work for Newspapersremembered.co.uk, you can buy originals from there or you can get reprints for a few quid less. they can also research if you're looking for a particular article.0
