There's a weekly comp posted HERE The entry form includes a Broadband speed tester as you have to enter your download speed as part of the comp entry. The speed is given in kbps. Mine shows as 1784kbps which is 1.784mb. My connection is stated by Virgin Media as being "up to 2mb" I don't think anyone actually supplies the speed that they quote but get round it by saying "up to".

Oh, thanks for that Thingamabob, i was curious about my speed too, and it said 2070kbps.
Never knew there was a speed calculator like that, which could test broadband speed!

Not sure how accurate these figures actually are but they will vary quite a lot depending on the time of day when the test is done.
If you google Broadband Speed checker you'll find a lot of sites that provide speed tests. I just tried one at random and it gave me a speed of 2.014Mbps which seems pretty good as I've only got a 2Mbps service but presumably it will run quicker at this time of night.
