Spending Advantage Card Points on boots.com

I found out that it is possible to redeem your Advantage card points on items from boots.com with a little bit of legwork last weekend. I'm not sure how widely known it is as the store manager wasn't even sure if it would work until we tried it.

You can now order a lot of boots.com on an order and collect basis (see here for details). If you choose to have it delivered to the store and your item is over £25 there's also no delivery charge. However what the website doesn't mention is that you can also place your order within the store and when you order it from within the store (unlike when you place the order on the website) you have the option to pay for your item using your Advantage card points.

I was able to order a Polar Heart Monitor that I couldn't find in any branches successfully using this method thanks to an assistant who suggested trying it and her manager who was prepared to give it a go to see if it would work.

As you say, it isn't widely known in store as, I think, the 'rules' changed last year.

Armed with the knowledge that 'I now could' from that forum, I managed to buy a camera. with points, from 'online' through my local store last Christmas despite the fact that none of the assistants thought you could do it - having said that they were very, very helpful and were absolutely delighted for me when it worked! And they rang me as soon as it arrived, which I thought was pretty good of them as it was just before Xmas.
