1.2V 700mAH Nickel Cadmium rechargeable batteries

I think the Poundland ones (4 for a £1) are 800mAH and 1.2v
What can you not find? If it is 700mAH, this is capacity (higher the number the longer they last)

Hi, Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd, NiCad) batteries are old technology now as they aren't as powerful as newer technologies.
For rechargable batteries, go for Ni-MH. They have power ratings of up to about 2500mAh. It doesn't matter if the power rating is higher than you need as your appliance will only draw as much current as it needs.
A quick Google for AA rechargable brings up loads of possibilities. From my experience, there are always some that offer excellent value and free shipping.0 -
edkay is right. Another NiMH-battery benefit is that they don't have a 'memory effect' - it doesn't matter if they're partly charged/fully discharged before they're charged again. So they perform more efficiently for longer when compared to NiCDs.
