I have been entering competitions for over 30 years.
The first thing to remember is only enter for prizes you really want to win.
I once won a years supply of domesdos and I was certainly 'clean round the bend' trying to find a home for all the bottles.
Best wins include:
Victorian Conservatory with the Daily Mail
E Machine computer with Daily Mirror
Trip to Australia with Fosters larger
Trolley dash at Asda
Game Boy
Family photo worth £500
Trip on the Orient Express
camcorder with Itv
£100 from Cadbury
Cd's & DVD's
Madonna tour VIP tickets and meal
In 2003 I won £18,000 in prizes. The best year so far.
My tips are:
For postal entries, send in just before the closing date.
Photographic comps are easy to win because people don't enter them in large quantities.
Make your own postcards from birthday cards that are different from all other entries.
Put a star or tick on the top left of the envelope. It works and your entries get picked out.
Enter online on the last day of closing date.
Local newspaper comps are great for winning Cd's and DVD's.Your chances of winning are greater.
For me the biggest tip of all. Have a lucky post box.Mine is in Bridge Street in Newport and I always win when I send in postal entries from this box!
