Statutory demand

When someones owes a creditor the sum of 3,000.00 and cannot pay, then receives a statutory demand from the creditor and in this it states that the creditor is owed 1500.00.

Why does the statutory demand not say that the creditor is owed 3000.00 instead of 1500.00? why did the creditor put a less figure that he was owed?

any ideas please?

If you were still making payments normally is there still time on the debt i.e. you took out a loan last year for 3 years. It could be that as one of my debts would still be running so we only get demands for the part that is overdue and not the part that is still due to come IYKWIM

Thanks scottishmummy, and no that 3,000.00 is the total debt nothing to come and nothing more, just that I can't understand why the SD only states 1500.00 when I owe 3,000.00 maybe he can add the rest on later
